Lavaveix was born in 1868 with the creation of the mining activity and hence the house was built in 1870 as the residence for the director and his family.
Lavaveix today is a small town of 865 habitants situated on the main road from Guéret and Aubusson.
Guéret is 22km away and Aubusson is 15km away.
There is all you would need in Lavaveix to get by without a vehicle plus there are bus services and a train station getting you around the department.
