Le Grand Moulin and Le Grange Cadot offers idyllic countryside scenery and tranquillity, yet a short drive from cultural surroundings in N.Normandy.
We are situated within easy reach of local amenities and activities in the area, including horse riding, fishing, shopping and beaches.
This contrast of peace and quiet, local activities and countryside steeped in history and culture means there is something for everyone!

Manche is surrounded on three sides by the English Channel and has with 350km of beautiful coastline.
With the climate being oceanic, it means that the winters are mild rarely reaching below freezing and summer temperatures averaging about 25°C.
It has a major ferry port in Cherbourg, and has regular ferries from Poole and Portsmouth.

The Grand Moulin, an ancient Water Mill setting of which part has been Cider Brewers and Farm, part of which has now been converted into a 2 Bedroom gîte accommodation offers a tranquil countryside, yet is only a 5 minute drive to the busy local town of Valognes. The Farm is on the Merderet River which is beautiful on a summer day for relaxing next to with picnics or fishing. The grounds also hold a badminton/volleyball court, pool table games area, orchard and extensive boundaries.
The gîte has 2 Double bedrooms, bathroom with shower bath, living room, kitchen diner combo and downstairs toilet.
There is Pond with large colourful Koi Carp which are a sight to behold during feeding.
Valognes and surrounding areas offer a lot of activities to be enjoyed by all the family. The owners live on site, and are available to offer any assistance required to enhance your self-catering holiday.

The Grange Cadot, a converted barn into a 2 Bedroom gîte accommodation is set in the beautiful and historical Beuzeville le Bastille, and a 3 kilometre drive from the amenities in Picauville. The Grange is less than a kilometre for the River Douve which boasts excellent coarse Fishing. The Grounds have 2000m² of private grassy land.
The Grange consists 2double bedrooms, bathroom with bath and separate shower and an open plan kitchen/dining room/living room.
Picauville and surronding areas offer a lot of activities to be enjoyed by all the family.
Valognes - Surrounding area:
Valognes is a vibrant town with local amenities and less than a 10 minute drive from Le Grand Moulin.
The town has supermarkets, restaurants, shops, bakers, petrol stations, museum and a tourist information office for sites and attractions.
There is also a market every Friday.

Picauville is a quiet town with local amenities and less than a 5 minute drive from Le Grange Cadot.

From the Caen ferry port of Ouistreham to the artificial D-Day harbour built by the Allies at Arromanches, the Mother-of-Pearl Coast hosts the historical yet beautiful Juno, Gold and Sword sandy D-Day landing beaches.
Near the Coast is the historical town of Bayeux, which has its museum that holds the Bayeux Tapestry.
The north east peninsula is home to Utah beach and Omaha Beach. The natural environment with marine wetlands swarming with wildlife and sandy beaches are protected. The fishing port of Barfleur was the launch of William the Conquerors invasion of England!.
Just off the coast of St Vaast La Hogue is Tatihou Island, which is a wild bird sanctuary.
To the north of the peninsula is the port of Cherbourg, which is good for shopping and restaurants.
A short drive to the Western Coast of the peninsula has high cliffs with spectacular views, and from the north down to the village of Barneville Carteret , there are sandy beaches. A hovercraft is available here providing trips to Jersey.
Further south is Mont Saint Michel. It is perched on a rocky inlet and is a unique experience. The castle also boasts shops, restaurants and a museum. The sandy beaches there are teeming with wildlife including fish, birds and even seals.
