Description of Bungalow in Languedoc Roussillon:
Detached bungalow of 80 sq metres in quiet residential area of large market town, yet close to all facilities
This delightful bungalow is an ideal purchase for someone looking for an easy to maintain holiday home. The house has 4 equal size rooms all 4 metres by 4 metres. The front entrance leads into a hallway with the kitchen/diner off to the right and a lounge dining room to the left. At the back of the property overlooking the small garden are 2 large bedrooms both with hand washbasins.

The kitchen which is large enough for a dining table, has a range of wooden cupboards and the mains gas boiler. This provides radiator heating for the whole house. The water is heated by an immersion heater sited in the bathroom which is situated at the end of the hall. It has a toilet and small bath with shower over. It has a radiator with supplementary infra-red wall heater.

The garden to the rear is small but private and overlooks the secure access to an electricity sub-station.

The house is about 100 metres up a slight slope away from the River Aude. There is easy access to the town centre, yet the property is in a very quiet cu-de-sac, overlooked by the castle ruins.
Quillan - Surrounding area:
The town of Quillan has all the amenities that you could wish for. It has 2 larger supermarkets, Champion and ED, as well as a small supermarket in the town centre. Here you will also find the butcher, greengrocers, several bakeries, fishmonger, optician, hairdressers, shoe shop, pizzeria, newsagents and electrical shop.

It also has 2 restaurants, several (at least 4) bar/restaurants and 3 hotels which also offer a further choice of eating places. There are bus links to other main centres and a rail link to Limoux and on to Carcassonne.

The town has an open air swimming pool, open in July and August. This is also when the fete happens, and a sleepy rural market town hosts a wide range of day-time and evening activities most of which are free.

Perpignan airport is about 50 minutes away and Carcassonne is slightly closer at 45 minutes. The town has good links either into the mountains where the nearest ski resort is about 30 minutes away.

There are 2 markets every week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays which offer just about something for everyone.
Other information:
Quillan is well placed to explore the history, the culture and the scenery of the Pyrenhees. There is a huge range of places to visit within easy travelling distance, and Andorra is an easy day trip as too is Spain.
